This peptide corresponds to a 16 amino acid sequence near the center of human IL-15RA.
PEP-1555 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34512.
For use as a blocking peptide in Western blot, incubate the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 min at 37ºC.

Target Information

Interleukin 15 receptor alpha (IL-15RA) specifically binds IL-15 with high affinity. IL-15 regulates T and natural killer cell activation and proliferation.
IL-15 and IL-2 receptors share two subunits, IL-2Rβ and IL-2Rγ, and IL-15RA is structurally related to IL-2RA, an additional IL-2-specific alpha subunit necessary for high-affinity IL-2 binding.
Unlike IL-2RA, IL-15RA can bind IL-15 independently of other subunits. IL-15RA is thought to enhance cell proliferation and expression of apoptosis inhibitors Bcl-xL and Bcl-2.
