Product Specific Information
- This antibody does not react with Rat.
- For IHC on PFA-fixed tissues: incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool for 20 minutes at room temperature.
Target Information
Chromogranin A (CHGA) is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins.
It is located in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells and serves as a precursor to biologically active peptides such as vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin.
These peptides act as autocrine or paracrine negative modulators of the neuroendocrine system.
CHGA is widely used as a marker for carcinoid tumors, pheochromocytomas, paragangliomas, and other neuroendocrine tumors.
Coexpression of CHGA and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) is common in neuroendocrine neoplasms.
