• This antibody does not react with Rat.
• For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

Chromogranin A (CHGA) is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins.
It is found in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells.
CHGA is a precursor to three biologically active peptides: vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin.
These peptides act as autocrine or paracrine negative modulators of the neuroendocrine system.
CHGA serves as an excellent marker for carcinoid tumors, pheochromocytomas, paragangliomas, and other neuroendocrine tumors.
Coexpression of Chromogranin A and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) is common in neuroendocrine neoplasms.
