Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

MDM2 is a ubiquitin ligase for p53 and plays a central role in regulating p53 stability. It resides on chromosome 12q and is phosphorylated by Akt at Ser166 and Ser186, enhancing interaction with p300 and promoting p53 ubiquitination and degradation.
Phosphorylation also prevents binding to p19ARF, further increasing p53 degradation. Overexpression of MDM2 leads to p53 inactivation, reducing its tumor suppressor function. MDM2 also possesses E3 ubiquitin ligase activity, contributing to p53 degradation.
Beyond p53 regulation, MDM2 participates in apoptosis, cell cycle control, and tumorigenesis through interactions with proteins such as retinoblastoma 1 and ribosomal protein L5. Overexpression is observed in various human cancers including soft tissue carcinomas and breast cancer.
More than 40 alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified from both tumor and normal tissues.
