• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Napsin 1 is an aspartic protease primarily expressed in lung tissue and also found in kidney and metastatic carcinomas. It processes surfactant protein B in healthy pulmonary and renal tissues but is dysregulated during carcinogenesis. Napsin evaluation assists in identifying cancer types and differentiating primary tumors from metastases. When combined with thyroid transcription factor analysis, it serves as a specific biomarker for carcinoma differentiation. It is also associated with pulmonary alveolar proteinosis and protein catabolism in renal tubules.
