• Specificity: Reactive with the NP of native SARS, MERS by IFA & COVID-19.
  Non-reactive with Coronavirus strains 229E, NL63 & OC43.
• Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by Protein A chromatography.
• Formulated at 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 0.1% sodium azide.
• Each vial contains 1.0 mL.
• Contains no stabilizing proteins; store at 4°C until use.
• Working dilution must be determined by the user.

Target Information

The coronavirus nucleocapsid (N) is a structural protein that forms complexes with genomic RNA, interacts with the viral membrane protein during virion assembly, and enhances the efficiency of virus transcription and assembly.
Amino acid sequence comparisons show that coronavirus nucleocapsid proteins have three distinct and conserved domains:

1. N-terminal domain (NTD/domain 1)
2. Intrinsically disordered central region (RNA-binding domain/domain 2)
3. C-terminal domain (CTD/domain 3)

All three domains have been shown in different coronaviruses to bind viral RNA.
