Target Information
Histone methyltransferase KMT2C methylates Lys-4 of histone H3, a marker associated with epigenetic transcriptional activation. It is a core component of the MLL2/3 complex, a nuclear receptor coactivator complex involved in transcriptional coactivation. KMT2C/MLL3 may function as the catalytic subunit of this complex and may play roles in leukemogenesis and developmental disorders.
