Target Information

Uteroglobin (also known as Clara cell phospholipid-binding protein) belongs to the Secretoglobin superfamily. It is a multifunctional protein with anti-inflammatory and anti-tumorigenic properties, binding small hydrophobic molecules such as phospholipids and prostaglandins.
It is a small, non-glycosylated protein highly expressed in pre-implantation embryos and secreted by non-ciliated Clara cells in pulmonary epithelial surfaces and other tissues.
Members of the Secretoglobin family are small, secretory homo- or heterodimers with high structural conservation.
Uteroglobin is implicated in:

• Sequestration of pro-inflammatory mediators and carcinogens
• Inhibition of cell migration and invasion
• Platelet aggregation regulation
• T cell differentiation control
