Target Information
Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, regulates the transition of proliferating precursor cells (e.g., carcinoma and neuronal precursors) into differentiated cells. The Retinoid X Receptors (RXRs) family—comprising RXR alpha, beta, and gamma—preferentially binds 9-cis-RA and modulates gene transcription by forming heterodimers with other RA receptor families. Retinoids may have therapeutic potential in cervical cancer and play critical roles in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory.
