Target Information
Mammalian apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease (APE/ref-1)는 다양한 세포 기능에 관여하는 다기능 효소로, DNA의 abasic site를 복구하고 산화 신호전달 및 전사인자 조절(Fos, Jun, NF-κB, Myb, HIF-1α, CREB, Pax), 세포주기 조절(p53), 세포사멸 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
APE는 발달 단계 및 조직별로 다르게 발현되며, 세포 내 다양한 위치에서 작용하여 DNA 복구 외에도 여러 단백질과 상호작용할 가능성이 있습니다.
또한 casein kinase II에 의해 인산화 조절을 받으며, 저산소 상태에서 산소 재공급 시 발현이 증가하고, 일부 악성 조직에서 정상 조직보다 높은 수준으로 발현됩니다. 반면, 발현 감소는 세포사멸 유도와 관련이 있습니다.
