Target Information
PRUNE2 gene, also known as BMCC1, encodes protein prune homolog 2.
PRUNE2 overlaps with PCA3, one of the most prostate cancer–specific markers.
It may play an important role in regulating differentiation, survival, and aggressiveness of tumor cells.
PRUNE2 shows high expression in the nervous system (brain, cerebellum, spinal cord) and in tumor cell lines such as neuroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, melanoma, and osteosarcoma, while exhibiting low expression in liver, breast, thyroid, and colon cancer cell lines.
The calculated molecular weight of this protein is 340 kDa.
