Target Information
Apoptosis Inducing Factor (AIF)는 염색질 응축과 DNA 절편화를 유도하는 단백질입니다. AIF는 미토콘드리아에 위치하며, 세포 사멸이 유도되면 핵으로 이동하여 apoptogenic 단백질(예: cytochrome c, caspase-9)의 방출을 유도합니다.
AIF는 인간과 생쥐 사이에서 높은 보존성을 가지며, 다양한 조직에서 발현됩니다. AIF 유전자의 돌연변이는 미토콘드리아 뇌병증을 유발하는 산화적 인산화 결핍 6과 관련이 있습니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 여러 전사 변이형이 존재하며, 염색체 10에 관련된 위유전자(pseudogene)가 확인되었습니다.
