Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with Monkey, Dog, Pig, and Cat.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Advantages:

  • High specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulations
  • Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

Alpha-1-Antitrypsin (Alpha-1-AT) is synthesized in the liver and acts as an inhibitor of proteases such as trypsin, elastase, chymotrypsin, collagenase, leucocytic proteases, plasmin, and thrombin, which may be released during inflammatory reactions in the lung.

Deficiency of alpha-1-AT can lead to chronic obstructive lung disease (emphysema), hepatic cirrhosis in infants, and respiratory distress in newborns. Elevated levels occur as an acute phase response to tissue necrosis and inflammation, and are often seen in rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infections, vasculitis, and carcinomatosis.
