Product Specific Information

  • For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
    Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
    Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Biological actions of insulin and IGF-1 are mediated by their respective cell surface receptor tyrosine kinases that regulate multiple signaling pathways through activation of phosphorylation cascades.
Insulin/IGF-1 binding to the extracellular domain leads to autophosphorylation of downstream target proteins.
These receptors differ in sequence regions that confer ligand specificity and in intracellular signaling domains, resulting in distinct functional outcomes.
Defects in the insulin receptor (IR) are associated with insulin resistance syndromes, while IGF-1R defects may cause certain types of growth retardation.
Both signaling cascades are also important in cancer development.
