- Description: Monoclonal rat IgG2a kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
- Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
- Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes and human peripheral blood cells; use at same concentration as experimental antibody.
- Fluorochrome: Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 496 (BUV496) emits at 496 nm; for cytometers with UV (355 nm) laser.
- Staining Buffer Recommendation: When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.
- Light Sensitivity: Protect from light due to photo-induced oxidation.
- Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
- Excitation/Emission: 350 nm / 496 nm (Ultraviolet Laser).

Target Information
Rat IgG2a is an immunoglobulin subclass produced by the rat immune system.
It activates complement and mediates antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC).
Molecular weight is approximately 160 kDa, composed of two heavy and two light chains.
Commonly used as control or reference antibody in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.
