Target Information
The FOXA1 gene encodes a member of the forkhead class of DNA-binding proteins. These hepatocyte nuclear factors act as transcriptional activators for liver-specific transcripts such as albumin and transthyretin, and also interact with chromatin.
In mice, similar family members play roles in metabolism regulation and differentiation of the pancreas and liver.
