Target Information

FAM3C is a 227-amino-acid secretory protein belonging to a novel cytokine-like family with sequence similarity to the FAM3 family. It functions as a signaling cytokine with a GG domain, hydrophobic leader sequence, and an N-terminal signal peptide. FAM3C exhibits cytokine activity and altered expression in pancreatic cancer-derived cells. It is ubiquitously expressed in most tissues and is implicated in inner ear development, potentially contributing to cell differentiation and proliferation during inner ear embryogenesis.
