Target Information
PDHB (Pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 component subunit beta, mitochondrial) is also known as PHE1B. This mitochondrial enzyme is part of the pyruvate dehydrogenase multienzyme complex (PDH), catalyzing the first step of oxidative decarboxylation converting pyruvate to acetyl-CoA and CO₂.
Defects in PDHB are associated with pyruvate dehydrogenase E1-beta deficiency (PDHBD).
