Cellular Localization	Nucleus, nucleolus, chromosome, fibrillar region of the nucleolus. During mitosis, associates with chromosomes through metaphase and anaphase, and in telophase localizes to prenucleolar bodies. Reassociates with the nucleolus after fibrillarin arrival. (PubMed:9450966)
Background	This gene encodes a protein phosphorylated during mitosis. It localizes to the nucleolus during interphase and to chromosomes during M phase. The protein associates with U3 small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein 60–80S complexes and may be involved in pre-rRNA processing. (RefSeq, Dec 2010)
