Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is part of the eIF4F complex, which mediates mRNA cap recognition and transport to ribosomes.
A microRNA (miR-520c-3p) negatively regulates synthesis of this protein, reducing global translation and cell proliferation.
Thus, eIF4G3/eIF4GII plays a key role in anti-tumor activity mediated by miR-520c-3p.
