Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is part of the eIF4F complex, involved in mRNA cap recognition and transport to the ribosome. A microRNA (miR-520c-3p) negatively regulates synthesis of this protein, leading to reduced protein translation and cell proliferation. This protein is thus a key component in the anti-tumor activity of miR-520c-3p.
