Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons and are composed predominantly of NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. NF-H plays a crucial role in maintaining neuronal caliber and is important in mature axons. It is also implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
