Target Information
Post Synaptic Density 95 kDa (PSD-95), also known as synapse-associated protein 90 kDa (SAP90), is a membrane-associated protein found in the postsynaptic density of forebrain neurons and certain presynaptic structures in the cerebellum.
It contains three PDZ domains, an SH3 domain, and a Guanylate Kinase (GuK) domain.
PSD-95 participates in clustering of proteins such as NMDA receptors and Shaker-type potassium channels at the synaptic membrane in CNS neurons.
Interactions occur via C-terminal T/SXV motifs or PDZ domain associations with other neuronal proteins like nNOS.
