Target Information
The SYT11 gene belongs to the synaptotagmin family and encodes a protein functioning as a calcium sensor involved in calcium-dependent membrane trafficking during synaptic transmission. It is also a substrate for ubiquitin-E3-ligase parkin. Previously referred to as synaptotagmin XII, it has been renamed synaptotagmin XI for consistency across species (RefSeq, Apr 2010).
