Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: Add 50 µL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size. The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C. The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, prepare small aliquots and store at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

The P2X7 receptor belongs to the family of purinoceptors for ATP. It functions as a ligand-gated ion channel responsible for ATP-dependent lysis of macrophages through the formation of membrane pores permeable to large molecules. Activation of this receptor by ATP in the cytoplasm may couple cellular activity to changes in gene expression. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been identified, most of which fit nonsense-mediated decay criteria.
