Target Information
Tenascin-X (TNXB) is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein predominantly located in the outer reticular lamina of the basement membrane (BM). It interacts with various ECM proteins and accelerates collagen fibrillogenesis in vitro. TNXB plays roles in cell–ECM interactions, antiadhesive effects, inhibition of cell migration, and maintenance of extracellular matrix homeostasis. Deficiency of TNXB is associated with the connective tissue disorder Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
