The Human Cardiotrophin-1 (CTF-1) Simplex ProcartaPlex™ Kit measures Cardiotrophin-1 (CTF-1) protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing you to create custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantify multiple protein targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument.
These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and deliver analyzed results within four hours.

Technology Overview

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single sample.
Each bead in the assay is internally dyed with defined proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique signatures recognized by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).

Similar to a sandwich ELISA, matched antibody pairs identify the target protein. In multiplexed assays, each unique bead is labeled with antibodies specific to a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
Unlike ELISA, the capture antibody is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing the assay reagents to remain free-floating in solution. Detection instruments such as the Luminex 200 use dual lasers — one for bead identification and one for RPE fluorescence quantification — enabling precise protein measurement with minimal sample volume.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available for multiple species including human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
