This antibody has specificity for Human CABP3/CABP5.
Target Information
The calcium-binding protein (CaBP) family shares much similarity with calmodulin. CaBP proteins can functionally substitute for and augment calmodulin activity. These proteins are crucial in calcium-mediated cellular signal transduction in the central nervous system.
CaBP1 and CaBP2 are expressed as multiple, alternatively spliced variants in brain and retina, while CaBP3, CaBP4, and CaBP5 are restricted to retinal rod and cone cells.
