Target Information
Apolipoprotein A4 (ApoA-IV) is a plasma protein and O-linked glycoprotein formed after proteolytic processing. It is a major constituent of HDL and also found on newly synthesized chylomicrons. Although its physiological function is not completely defined, in vitro studies indicate that ApoA4 participates in several steps of the reverse cholesterol transport pathway, moving cholesterol from peripheral cells back to the liver.
