DNA Ligase III는 포유류 세포 내 네 가지 DNA ligase 단백질 중 하나로, DNA 복제, 수선, 재조합 중 발생하는 DNA 절단 부위를 연결하는 데 필수적입니다.
DNA Ligase III 유전자 산물은 체세포 조직에서 100 kDa (α-form) 단백질로 발현되며, XRCC-1과 복합체를 형성합니다. 또한 고환에서 발견되는 97 kDa (β-form) 단백질 형태로도 존재합니다.
DNA Ligase III는 단일 가닥 DNA 절단 복구 및 염기 절제 수선 경로에 관여합니다.
