Product Specific Information
In direct ELISAs and Western blots, less than 2% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse ARSA, recombinant human ARSB, and ARSJ is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Sulfatases such as ARSG hydrolyze sulfate esters from sulfated steroids, carbohydrates, proteoglycans, and glycolipids. They play roles in hormone biosynthesis, modulation of cell signaling, and degradation of macromolecules.
This gene encodes a novel arylsulfatase with activity toward pseudosubstrates such as p-nitrocatechol sulfate and 4-methylumbelliferyl sulfate. Activity is competitively inhibited by phosphate.
The unprocessed protein is active as a 63-kDa monomer and exhibits an acidic pH optimum typical of lysosomal sulfatases. The protein accumulates within lysosomes and is a glycoprotein that binds specifically to mannose 6-phosphate receptors.
