Target Information
Rho GTPases, activated by specific guanine-nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs), are key regulators of various cellular functions. TEM4, encoded by the ARHGEF17 gene, is a Rho-specific GEF containing a Dbl homology (DH) domain but lacking the typical pleckstrin homology domain. It is predominantly expressed in the heart and couples tyrosine kinase signals with Rho/Rac GTPase activation, influencing cell differentiation and proliferation. Elevated levels of TEM4, TEM5, TEM6, TEM7, and TEM7R have been observed in breast cancer tissues, suggesting potential therapeutic relevance.
