Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
NCSTN (Nicastrin) encodes a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that is a key component of the gamma-secretase complex. It participates in the cleavage of integral membrane proteins, including Notch receptors and beta-amyloid precursor protein (APP). The cleavage of APP produces amyloid beta peptide, a major component of neuritic plaques observed in Alzheimer’s disease. Although its precise role in Alzheimer’s disease remains unclear, mutations in NCSTN are associated with familial acne inversa. A pseudogene is located on chromosome 21.
