Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
The TMPRSS3 gene encodes a protein belonging to the serine protease family. It contains serine protease, transmembrane, LDL receptor-like, and scavenger receptor cysteine-rich domains. Serine proteases are involved in various biological processes, and their malfunction can lead to human diseases. TMPRSS3 is associated with congenital and childhood-onset autosomal recessive deafness and is expressed in the fetal cochlea and other tissues. It may play a role in the development and maintenance of the inner ear. TMPRSS3 has also been identified as a tumor-associated gene overexpressed in ovarian tumors. Alternative splicing variants have been described.
