Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic actin-binding protein involved in neuronal growth. It belongs to the drebrin family, which is developmentally regulated in the brain. Reduced levels of this protein have been associated with memory disturbances in Alzheimer’s disease. Multiple splice variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
