Antibody detects endogenous levels of total ERM / Etv5.
Target Information
ETS variant 5 (ETV5) is a transcription factor of the ETS family and a divergent member of the winged helix-turn-helix superfamily. It is expressed in brain, placenta, and other tissues involved in development.
Tissue specificity: Ubiquitous. ERM is expressed in Sertoli cells and spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs). Studies on knockout mice have shown that ETV5 is required for SSC self-renewal but not differentiation, leading to progressive germ cell depletion in affected mice.
