Product Specific Information

The 2D1 monoclonal antibody reacts with all isoforms of human CD45 (Leukocyte Common Antigen, LCA). CD45 is expressed by all hematopoietic cells except erythrocytes and platelets. The cytoplasmic domain has tyrosine phosphatase activity and is crucial for lymphocyte activation.

Target Information

CD45 (LCA) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed on all nucleated hematopoietic cells (~10% of lymphocyte surface proteins). Absent in non-hematopoietic tissues, CD45 regulates Src-family kinases and JAK kinases, influencing lymphocyte activation, cytokine signaling, and apoptosis. Isoforms differ by alternative splicing and cell type-specific expression.
