Product Specific Information
This clone recognizes a different epitope on the CD4 molecule than the W3/25 clone.
For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
Target Information
The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is mainly expressed on T helper lymphocytes and can also be found on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression is observed in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and in specific regions of the brain and gut.
CD4 functions to initiate or augment early T-cell activation via association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase Lck. It may also mediate neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
