Product Specific Information

The A20 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD45 molecule (leukocyte common antigen, LCA) in CD45.1-expressing mouse strains such as SJL/J, DA, STS/A, and RIII. CD45.1 is expressed by all leukocytes in these strains.

Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising ~10% of surface proteins in lymphocytes. It regulates Src-family kinases and plays a key role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling.
CD45 exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains. Isoform expression varies by cell type and physiological state. CD45 also modulates integrin-mediated signaling and DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
CD45RA is one isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
