Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
The SMN complex plays a catalytic role in assembling small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), essential components of the spliceosome. It facilitates splicing of cellular pre-mRNAs.
Spliceosomal snRNPs contain Sm proteins (SNRPB, SNRPD1, SNRPD2, SNRPD3, SNRPE, SNRPF, SNRPG) forming a heptameric ring on the small nuclear RNA.
In the cytosol, Sm proteins are held in an inactive 6S pICln-Sm complex by chaperone CLNS1A. The SMN complex dissociates CLNS1A and transfers Sm proteins to the SMN-Sm complex, enabling snRNP assembly and nuclear transport.
