LYK5 (STE20-related Adaptor Protein, STRAD; FLJ90524)는 인간 염색체 17q23.3에 위치하며, STE-20 유사 키나제 계열에 속합니다. 이 계열은 MAPK 경로를 활성화하는 MAPKKK를 직접적으로 자극하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. STRAD는 촉매 활성에 필요한 잔기가 결여된 새로운 가성키나제(pseudokinase)로, LKB1과 특이적으로 결합하여 LKB1의 종양 억제 기능을 조절합니다. STRAD는 LKB1의 상위 활성 인자로 작용하며, LKB1을 세포질에 고정시켜 세포 내 위치를 조절합니다. STRAD-LKB1 상호작용은 STRAD의 인산화 및 LKB1의 자가 인산화를 촉진합니다.
