Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
GFAP (Glial fibrillary acidic protein)은 class III intermediate filament 단백질 계열에 속합니다.
이 단백질은 중추신경계의 성상교세포(astrocyte) 및 특정 성상교아세포(astroglia)에 강하게 발현되며, 말초신경계의 위성세포(satellite cells)와 비수초성 슈반세포(non-myelinating Schwann cells)에서도 발견됩니다.
또한 신경줄기세포(neural stem cells)에서도 GFAP이 강하게 발현됩니다.
GFAP 항체는 성상교세포 표지(marker)로 유용하며, 다양한 유형의 뇌종양(astrocytic origin)에서도 높은 수준으로 발현됩니다.
렌즈 상피, 간의 Kupffer 세포, 타액선 종양 세포 일부, 적혈구에서도 보고된 바 있습니다.
GFAP은 발달 과정 중 성상교세포를 다른 교세포와 구별하는 데 사용됩니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 중추신경계의 희귀 질환인 Alexander disease를 유발합니다.
GFAP 유전자는 다양한 스플라이싱 변이를 통해 여러 이소폼을 생성합니다.
