• Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis:
  Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Marmoset (100%); Monkey, Elephant (94%); Hamster (88%); Dog, Panda, Horse (81%)
• For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer.
  After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.

Target Information

CCR4 is a chemokine receptor preferentially expressed on type 2 helper T (Th2-type) cells.
Unlike other chemokine receptors, CCR4 and CCR8 expression on Th2 cells transiently increases after TCR and CD28 engagement.
Activated Th1 cells also up-regulate CCR4 expression and responsiveness to thymus- and activation-regulated chemokine.

Chemokines are small (8–14 kD), mostly basic molecules that regulate leukocyte trafficking via 7-transmembrane, G protein-coupled receptors.
They play essential roles in immune system development, homeostasis, and function, and affect CNS and endothelial cells involved in angiogenesis or angiostasis.

Chemokines are divided into two major subfamilies:

• CXC chemokines: Two conserved cysteines separated by one amino acid
• CC chemokines: Two adjacent conserved cysteines
