For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

STAT5 alpha is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. Upon cytokine or growth factor stimulation, STAT proteins are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases, forming homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to act as transcription activators.
STAT5A mediates responses to ligands such as IL2, IL3, IL7, GM-CSF, erythropoietin, thrombopoietin, and growth hormones. Constitutive activation of STAT5A, as seen in TEL/JAK2 fusion-related myeloma and lymphoma, is essential for tumorigenesis.
In mice, STAT5A induces BCL2L1/BCL-X(L) expression, suggesting an anti-apoptotic role. STAT5A and STAT5B share 96% sequence similarity and are co-expressed in most tissues, though their mRNA levels differ in muscle and mammary tissues.
STAT5A is involved in reproduction, lactation, immune function, and somatic growth.
