Target Information

Aquaporin 12 (AQP12)는 포유류 AQP 패밀리 중 가장 최근에 확인된 멤버로, 췌장 선세포(pancreatic acinar cells)에 특이적으로 발현됩니다. In vitro 발현 연구에서 AQP12가 세포 내 위치에 존재함이 확인되었습니다. 생리학적 역할을 규명하기 위해 AQP12 유전자 결손(AQP12-KO) 마우스를 생성하였으며, 정상 조건에서는 WT와 AQP12-KO 마우스 간 성장, 혈액 화학, 췌장 액 함량, 조직학적 차이가 없었습니다. 그러나 cholecystokinin-8 (CCK-8) 유사체를 투여하여 췌장염을 유도했을 때, AQP12-KO 마우스는 WT 마우스보다 더 심한 병리적 손상을 나타냈습니다.
