The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues W(1) Y K P A A G P H H Y S V G R A S G L L S S F H R F P S T(29) of mouse NPB protein.
Target Information
Neuropeptide B is an endogenous ligand of the orphan G protein coupled receptor GPR7.
NPB and GPR7 exist in close proximity in the rat hypothalamus and are ideally positioned to modulate neuroendocrine functions.
NPB-immunoreactivity is enriched in many regions within the hypothalamus containing high levels of GPR7 mRNA, including:
- Ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus
- Dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus
- Arcuate nucleus
- Supraoptic retrochiasmatic nucleus
- Area ventral to the zona incerta
