Target Information
Histone H3 is one of the DNA-binding proteins found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it binds DNA to form the nucleosome structure. Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo various post-translational modifications, including methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, which regulate chromatin structure and gene expression.
