PA1-4357 detects the Alivin 1 protein in mouse and rat samples.
PA1-4357 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects bands of approximately 63 and 66 kDa representing Alivin 1 in mouse brain lysate.
The PA1-4357 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues T(449) G D A S A D D R K A G K R V V(464) of mouse and rat Alivin 1, showing 81% sequence identity to human.

Target Information

Alivin 1 (ali1) is a novel primary response gene that promotes neuron survival in an activity-dependent manner.
Sequence analyses reveal that rat, mouse, and human Ali1 proteins contain seven leucine-rich repeats, one IgC2-like loop, and a transmembrane domain, displaying homology to Kek and Trk families.
Expression of ali1 promotes depolarization-dependent survival of granule neurons.
Mouse ali1 is mapped to a locus approximately 55.3 cM from the centromere on chromosome 15, syntenic to loci associated with familial Alzheimer’s disease type 5 and Parkinson’s disease 8 on human chromosome 12.
