The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as confirmed by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of proteins on serine and threonine residues regulate numerous cellular functions such as division, homeostasis, and apoptosis. Serine/threonine (Ser/Thr) protein kinases are central to these processes.
BMP2K (BMP2 inducible kinase), also known as BIKE, is a 1,161 amino acid nuclear protein containing one kinase domain and belonging to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is thought to be involved in osteoblast differentiation and catalyzes ATP-dependent phosphorylation of bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs), which are essential for cartilage and bone formation. BMP2K may play a role in signaling pathways mediating bone growth and cellular differentiation. Three isoforms of BMP2K exist due to alternative splicing.
