The 5B11 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD123, the alpha chain of the IL-3 receptor. This 60–70 kDa transmembrane protein binds IL-3 with low affinity alone, and with high affinity when associated with CD131 (common beta chain) or AIC2A (IL-3β). CD123 requires the beta chain for signal transduction.

Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cell suspension; ≤1 µg/test recommended.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL volume (typically 10^5–10^8 cells/test).
Careful titration is recommended for optimal assay performance.

Target Information
IL-3Ra (Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha) is part of the type I cytokine receptor family. It forms a heterodimer with the common beta (CDw131) subunit, transmitting IL-3 signaling. IL-3Ra and IL-3Rb heterodimerization is induced by IL-3 and is essential for receptor activation.
IL-3Ra is reported to be overexpressed on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts compared with normal hematopoietic cells, making it a potential therapeutic target.
